Hey!   Isn’t this meant to be Spring?   So cold!   But more snowfalls so that was a bonus.   Thank you to the person who invented central air conditioning!   Stairs became my daily challenge, I am a flatlander and not used to navigating stairs or hills.   My hip really suffered from the journey and I suffered terrible stiffness in the first week or so.   Anyway back to the events… We arrived Friday 28 th Feb and the folks here had waited for my arrival to hold the baby shower.   So on Sunday, we gathered and shared stories and laughs, and it was so wonderful to see the love and care around my girl by her mother in law Mary, family and friends.   Little did we know that hell was about to break loose. Over the next week or so there were more stories about the virus and in that week following the baby shower I got really ill with a nasty virus, as did Roger and little JJ.   I thought well, this is it I have it!   I still have no idea if we did, it was similar symptoms to

Where to begin?

My youngest daughter lives in Ohio USA with her American hubby and a 4 year old daughter. As they were expecting a new baby in March 2020, we decided to take the trip over and be with them for the birth. There was some talk on the news about a new virus coming out of China, but no serious alarm bells, I certainly wasn’t going to cancel my trip. Every day we jump in the car and take a drive there are risks. Every year I risk getting the flu, and I thought the media was probably blowing it all out of proportion anyway. Didn’t we all? On February 28th we flew out from Melbourne, via Sydney to Dallas, Texas and then on to Dayton Ohio. We enjoyed being in Economy plus for the first time, definitely worth the extra cash to have the comfort! I suffer a bit of anxiety and I am not a keen flyer due to a mild case of claustrophobia. I can't sleep or poop when travelling, but I am sure I am not alone there. There was plenty of nanna naps and I made good use of the media, swapping betwee
